Sometimes these ideas just pop into my head. This chandelier was my first attempt at working with screen. The free form aluminum ceiling plate was hand cut from a piece of 1/8" sheet. The edges were smoothed and it was sanded and clear coated. There are six lights that drop down on modified braided, stainless steel, water lines. The shades are fabricated from aluminum screen door screen. The edges are hand hemmed and they are rolled into a long, flared, funnel form. Custom aluminum connectors and socket covers were created for this light. Copper wire is used to secure the screen shades to the drop lines. The shades can be moved up the drop lines to change the bulbs. 40w, maximum, incandescent bulbs or almost any candelabra LED bulb, are ideal for this fixture. It measures 28" from the ceiling to the bottom of the shades. The ceiling plate is 20" long.
