This was another lamp that went through several design changes before it got to what you see here. I had four pieces of beautiful hickory I wanted to incorporate into a lamp. I eventually landed on this design. I slotted the two long edges, of all four boards, to fit oxidized, brass, angles for the corners. I used four walnut sticks, running through the middle of each side, for the legs. There was a thin walnut cap, top and bottom. The top cap had a round hole for the screen roll to fit through. The bronze screen has hemmed edges and is sewn, with long strands of bronze wire, from the same roll. That insures it will hold it’s shape, top to bottom. The top cap lifts off, with the screen in tact, to change the bulb. The full range dimmer is housed in a custom switch box that sits next to the lamp on the table top. The light, deep in the box, shines up through the the screen and out a round hole in the bottom cap. The lamp is approximately 36" tall x 10" square.
