This was the first fixture of what turned out to be ten lights this client purchased. They wanted something that would give off a soft light for dining but could be turned up for work at the dining room table. They didn’t want to see any bulbs from the table or from across the room. That is why I developed the “pod” light heads. The idea was to place a light over each place setting on the table. They liked the organic flow of the arms which each ended with a hammered and hand formed copper “pod”. Each “pod” housed a small 60w quartz bulb. The heat from the bulb was managed by the completely open top of the light head. Now days that is not an issue with the much cooler LED bulbs that are available. When dimmed, the ambient light coming from the ceiling provided just the right atmosphere for dinner parties. When turned up, it was perfect for tasks. All the copper has been oxidized and hand rubbed. It was just the beginning of many fun projects together. The chandelier measures 84" long x 36" wide.
