This lamp was inspired by high-end, tube, stereo gear. I had a 2-2/2" thick piece of burled walnut I was saving for something special. I re-sawed it into several 3/16" veneer pieces to use on this lamp. There is an aluminum channel under the wood veneers for a solid base. The veneers are glued and screwed to the aluminum base. The oxidized light sockets are copper tubing with a copper ring at the bottom. The full range dimmer knob is a custom piece with a notch at the top to show the light level setting . The whole lamp has been treated with several coats of hand polished floor wax. The bulbs shown here are all vintage style, incandescent bulbs. The filaments on these bulbs are gorgeous. Each bulb is 25w. LED bulbs can be used but the “filaments” are not as delicate as these. The lamp is 10"wide x 6"deep x 8"tall to the top of the center bulb.
